Employee Information

Vit Plant Status: On May 26 the DOE, other Hanford contractors and the Vit Plant began implementing a deliberate, phased approach to remobilize Hanford Site operations.

During these unprecedented times, it is critical that all Vit Plant team members are well informed and understand that their health and safety is our top priority. This page serves as a resource for our team members, including those without work email, for updates on Site posture, new safety measures implemented, and messages communicated by project leadership.

New messages and updates will be posted here as the project continues to move through each of the three remobilization phases. Workers will be contacted by their supervisor when it is time to return to work.

Vit Plant COVID-19 protocols help to ensure the safety of our workforce and are followed to ensure consistency across the Hanford Site and guidance and best practices from local and national health officials.

Any employee (WTP/WTCC/subcontractor) tested for COVID-19 must follow these protocols:

  • Make notification to the Vit Plant COVID Point of Contact (POC) by calling 509-545-2776 after being tested. The notification will include a short interview to capture appropriate information and provide guidance.
  • After receiving COVID test results from the testing facility, employees are to again notify the COVID POC and provide their results. At that time, the COVID POC will provide direction on quarantine/isolation and the process for returning to work. No employee may be called back or return to work until released by the COVID POC.
  • After being tested for COVID, an employee may be contacted by Benton/Franklin Health or the Hanford Site Medical contractor HPMC to conduct COVID Contact Tracing. If contacted by either organization and provided direction regarding quarantine/isolation, the employee must then again notify the COVID POC and provide them the information/direction received from Contact Tracing.

It remains the Vit Plant's goal to provide a safe work environment including a COVID free workplace.

If you have questions, please send them to wtpcomm@bechtel.com and your inquiry will be directed to the appropriate person or department. You also can find information on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/HanfordVitPlant/.
