In southeastern Washington state, Bechtel National, Inc., is designing and constructing the world’s largest vitrification facility to convert radioactive waste stored in underground tanks to solid glass. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant, also known as the Vit Plant, is located on the Department of Energy’s Hanford Site, near Richland, Washington.
Information about internship opportunities at the Vit Plant can be found by visiting the following website:
Bechtel internships are posted in the fall for the following summer. Most internship positions are posted for all US projects together and the location will say “Various US.” Interns interested in the US-based projects will be asked a preference of location further along in the interview and selection process. Referrals can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org (College Referral) with the name and resume of the candidate and the position applied. University hire positions are for recent graduates or students who will be graduating within one year of application.
Amentum internships will be listed as "Intern" followed by the specific business group. Students must have completed their Sophomore year to be considered.
It takes major talent to build a plant as complex as the Vit Plant. One of Bechtel’s core guiding principles is to attract, develop, motivate, and retain highly competent, committed, and creative colleagues of diverse origins who are the best in their fields.
