Vit Plant Donates $39,000 to Toys for Tots, Bikes for Tikes

RICHLAND, Wash. – Vit Plant team members donated more than $39,000 in toys and cash to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves’ Toys for Tots and Local 598’s Bikes for Tikes campaigns at an event today. Representatives from both organizations were at the Vit Plant jobsite to accept the donations. It is one of the largest donations since the Vit Plant began the Toys for Tots campaign in 2019.
“Toys for Tots is grateful for our continued partnership with the Vit Plant; without their team members’ consistent generosity, we would not be able to meet our community needs,” said Glen Carter, local Toys for Tots coordinator and former Marine. “Every year, their contributions make up more than one-third of our donations and help us guarantee these kids have a happier holiday.”
The Vit Plant donated more than $34,000, including cash and Amazon wishlist purchases, as well as 30 boxes of toys to Toys for Tots. Another $5,000 was donated to Local 598’s Bikes for Tikes. This year, Bikes for Tikes purchased and assembled 800 bikes.

The Vit Plant successfully began turning Hanford’s radioactive waste into safe, stable glass form in October.
