Bechtel National, Inc. has donated $10,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties to help fund this year’s college tours, continuing a partnership that supports local youth as they explore higher education and career opportunities.

This donation will help provide transportation, lodging, and educational experiences for students participating in the college tour program. The Club tours students through colleges and universities across Washington state to gain firsthand exposure to campus life, academic programs, and potential career pathways.

The Boys & Girls Clubs College Tour program is designed to provide students in Benton and Franklin counties with opportunities to pursue higher education and access to resources that support their academic success.

“As a former Club kid, I understand how impactful it can be to step onto a college campus and begin imagining what’s possible for your future,” said Brian Hartman, Bechtel senior vice president and Vit Plant project director. “We are proud to support the Boys & Girls Clubs as it creates opportunities for local students to explore higher education, build confidence, and prepare for successful futures.”

This year’s tour will bring 30-40 students to Washington State University in Pullman on July 14. Additionally, 25-30 students will also meet with professors at Columbia Basin College on July 28 to learn about Digital Marketing and Supply and Demand programs offered.

This donation reflects Bechtel’s more than 20 years of support to Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties and its commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders and innovators in the Tri-Cities community.

“College tours give our youth the chance to explore different career paths, ask questions, and experience college life firsthand,” said Miryam Hurtado, Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties Workforce Readiness Director. “For many students, it’s an opportunity to see what’s possible for their future. We’re incredibly grateful for Bechtel’s continued partnership in helping open those doors.”
