Bechtel Helps Launch New All-Abilities Theatre Program

Bechtel is sponsoring Diversity’s Got Talent, a new program designed to bring together youth with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities to participate in a newly created performing arts program developed by the Academy of Children’s Theatre (ACT) and Columbia Ability Alliance (CAA).

Diversity’s Got Talent is a four-week program providing participants ages 11 and older with opportunities to explore acting, singing, and dancing in a welcoming and inclusive environment for youth of all abilities. Through the program, the students develop confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills all while gaining memorable experiences in the performing arts.

“Fostering an environment where kids of all abilities are included helps build a mindset of succeeding together,” said Brian Coombe, Bechtel’s deputy project manager for High-Level Waste at the Hanford Vit Plant. “Every child deserves a chance to create their own story and discover their talents. We’re proud to support this program and this new partnership between CAA and ACT.”

This sponsorship reflects Bechtel’s commitment to supporting programs that expand opportunities for youth and strengthen inclusion and belonging throughout the Tri-Cities.
