Bechtel National, Inc. and the Hanford Vit Plant were commended by the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM) for saving $3.4 million in procurements and subcontracts in Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15). The Vit Plant exceeded its FY15 savings goal of $2.3 million by 46.7 percent.
The Project participates in the EM Strategic Sourcing Initiative (SSI), a contractor-led initiative to maximize taxpayer value for every DOE EM acquisition dollar spent. The initiative helped EM exceed its FY15 Strategic Sourcing target savings goal of $20 million and achieve a total actual savings of $28 million.
