The second melter assembly began its journey at 9:30 a.m. and continued to follow in the tire tracks of the first assembly. (It arrived at the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant construction site on November 5.) The caravan, complete with lead vehicles, transporter and follow vehicles, began its trek at the manufacturer's in Ogden, Utah, and completed its first day in Moreland, Idaho. The weather was slightly overcast with average temperatures for the day at 48 degrees Fahrenheit.
