Frank RussoFrank Russo, Project Director

Frank Russo is the Project Director for the Hanford Vitrification Plant. He has more than 37 years experience in engineering, procurement, construction, startup, commissioning and business management, including experience in nuclear power plant construction and with the Department of Energy (DOE). 

Before being named Project Director at the Hanford Vitrification Plant, Frank was the Principal Associate Director of Operations & Business at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). In this position, he led a team of nearly 3,000 people and all laboratory business and operations functions. LLNL provides science weapons and national security research and development, as well as operates category II and III nuclear facilities at LLNL. 

Frank has also served in roles as President of Bechtel BWXT Idaho, a business that processes transuranic nuclear waste, and as President and Project Director for the Idaho Completion Project, a $5 billion environmental cleanup and completion project.
